On November 14, 2023, I was invited to talk about Painful Joy at the University of South Alabama by the Gulf Coast Center for Holocaust and Human Rights Education and the University. Since my parents spent their last years being cared for my sister Rachel in Mobile, this was an especially important, and indeed, emotional journey back in time in many ways.
